Compact Busway
Jiuwei Busway's compact busway range includes: 2mm-thick high-conductivity copper compact busway, 3mm-thick high-conductivity copper compact busway, 4mm-thick tie-in copper busway, 5mm-thick safety busway, 5mm-thick aluminum alloy busway, and 3mm-thick high-heat-dissipation compact copper busway series. Depending on process and requirements, protection ratings of IP40-IP66 can be achieved.
The JW-XLC-II 2mm series Compact Busway uses 2mm-thick national-standard T2 copper busbars as the conductor. Its first model passed type testing and obtained national CCC certification in 2017. Through structural and process improvements, Jiuwei Busway has given the JW-XLC-II 2mm series Compact Busway stable temperature rise and reliable, convenient plug-in connections. The 2mm conductor takes full advantage of the AC skin effect, showing a significant current-carrying advantage over traditional 5mm-thick copper conductors. The JW-XLC-II 2mm series Compact Busway has been widely used in numerous national key engineering projects. Since entering service in 2017, this product line has had no quality issues or fault records to date. This series is currently mainly available for existing customers' small-current bulk product needs.
Product Overview
JW-XLC-III Compact Copper Busway is suitable for AC 50Hz systems with a rated voltage of 380V and a rated operating current from 250A to 6300A, for three-phase four-wire and three-phase five-wire power supply and distribution systems. The product uses a compact structural design in which the insulation layer is tightly pressed against the copper busbar conductor to form a monolithic structure, offering outstanding advantages such as small size, large capacity, flexible installation, safety and reliability, and high cost-effectiveness. The product complies with the national standard GB/T 7251.6 and is suitable for high-current power transmission and distribution in high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, industrial plants, and residential communities.
Core Structure
JW-XLC-III Compact Copper Busway consists of three core components: high-purity copper busbar conductors, high-performance insulation material, and a high-strength aluminum alloy enclosure.
For the conductor, high-purity electrical copper drawn from national-standard T2 electrolytic copper is used, with copper content no less than 99.90% and resistivity below 0.01777 Ω·mm²/m. The copper busbars use a fully rounded-edge "R-bar" design with tin plating along the full surface length, effectively enhancing oxidation and corrosion resistance, reducing contact resistance, and improving connection reliability. Busbar thickness ranges from 3mm to 5mm, precisely calculated and optimized to balance current-carrying capacity, heat dissipation efficiency, and material economy, offering good cost-effectiveness while meeting conventional building power distribution needs. Busways rated 1600A and below are commonly used for power supply and distribution in commercial housing, office buildings, residential communities, and factories; 3mm-thick copper busbar conductors fully meet the distribution needs of these scenarios.
For the insulation system, the copper busbars are wrapped in a Class-C polyester film integral coating process; the insulation material is halogen-free, with a flame-retardancy rating of Class B or above and a heat-resistant temperature above 130°C, releasing no toxic gases in a fire and meeting stringent fire-safety requirements.
For the enclosure, high-quality aluminum-magnesium alloy profile is used, with a heat-dissipation fin design and an anti-oxidation surface treatment. The enclosure's protective circuit continuity resistance is ≤0.007Ω, ensuring a safe and reliable grounding loop. The enclosure structure is optimized to increase the outer surface heat-dissipation area, effectively improving heat dissipation, enhancing heat-transfer efficiency from the conductor to the enclosure, and lowering temperature rise. The aluminum alloy enclosure is non-magnetic and highly corrosion-resistant, adapting to a variety of complex environments.
The product supports plug-in connections, with tap-off outlets designed along the busway trunk, using plug-in boxes to connect to terminal meter boxes or equipment. The plug-in box is fitted with copper pins and a circuit breaker; the copper pins plug into the busway trunk to draw power, achieving true plug-and-play convenience. Plug-in box rated currents range from 80A to 1600A; for currents above 800A, a busway T-connection is recommended.
Core Performance Features
High current-carrying capacity, superior heat dissipation efficiency. JW-XLC-III uses a compact structure in which the copper busbar conductor is pressed tightly against the aluminum alloy enclosure, dissipating heat via thermal conduction with high efficiency. Compared to an air-insulated busway using the same amount of material, Compact Busway's current-carrying efficiency is 15% to 30% higher. Combined with the 3mm-thick copper busbar conductor and the aluminum alloy enclosure's heat-dissipation fin design, the closely packed busbars can rapidly dissipate heat through the enclosure, effectively lowering busway temperature rise and ensuring long-term stable system operation.
Compact structure and high space utilization. The busway is compact, easy to transport and install, offers large capacity and strong power delivery, and has a short fabrication time. The compact structure gives it a far smaller volume than traditional cable-laying methods at the same current-carrying capacity, making it especially suitable for space-constrained installation environments such as electrical shafts in high-rise buildings.
Full range of specifications, flexible configuration. The product's current ratings cover 250A, 315A, 400A, 500A, 630A, 800A, 1000A, 1250A, 1600A, 2000A, 2500A, 3150A, 4000A, 5000A, and 6300A, and can be flexibly configured as three-wire, four-wire, or five-wire systems. Straight-section unit length depends on the current rating; sections rated 1250A and below are 3 to 6 meters long, facilitating on-site installation and transport.
Multiple layers of protection, safe and reliable. Protection ratings of IP40, IP54, IP65, and other specifications are available, flexibly selected according to the installation environment. The product is nationally CQC-certified, strictly complies with national standards, and has reliable electrical and mechanical connection devices, ensuring safety and stability over long-term operation.
Diverse Application Scenarios
With its high current-carrying capacity, excellent heat dissipation, compact structural design, and reliable overall performance, JW-XLC-III Compact Copper Busway is widely used across numerous industries and scenarios; the 3mm series in particular offers an outstanding cost-effectiveness advantage for distribution scenarios rated 1600A and below.
