Drawing on lessons from repeated fire-resistance test failures experienced by other manufacturers of aluminum alloy fire-resistant busway, Jiuwei Busway Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. improved its fire-resistance process and became the first company in China to pass the CQC fire-resistance test administered by the national low-voltage switchgear testing authority, backed by a passing type-test report. Against a backdrop of high copper prices straining electrical engineering project budgets, Jiuwei's alloy fire-resistant busway offers a solution that reduces cost significantly without compromising electrical performance. The product has already been used in major national engineering projects.
Fireproof busway, as the name suggests, is busway that will not itself catch fire. Using the same fireproofing process as fireproof cable trays, its fire protection comes mainly from a fire-retardant coating sprayed onto the busway enclosure, forming flame-retardant busway. In the market, fireproof busway is often mistaken for fire-resistant busway, but the two are clearly different: fireproof busway has no fire-resistance rating — it simply will not burn — and in an actual fire, fireproof busway may only continue operating for 5-30 minutes; fire-resistant busway, by contrast, can keep operating in an open flame for up to 180 minutes.
