Factory Project: FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin Plant Power Distribution Project
FAW-Volkswagen's North China base is located in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. The main plant covers a site area of 1,080,900 square meters and houses stamping, body welding, painting, final assembly, quality assurance, plant logistics, IT, and outsourced-parts tooling facilities, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles. By 2020, FAW-Volkswagen's cumulative investment in the North China base was expected to reach approximately RMB 13 billion.
In August 2018, after 23 months of construction, the Tianjin plant was completed and began production. With this, FAW-Volkswagen's five major production bases — Changchun in the Northeast, Chengdu in the Southwest, Foshan in South China, Qingdao in East China, and Tianjin in North China — were all in place. Under Volkswagen Group's plan, total production capacity in China was to reach 3 million vehicles per year by 2020, a target expected to be met once the follow-on construction at each plant was complete. As the fifth production base, the Tianjin plant is also FAW-Volkswagen's most advanced fully digital, visualized smart factory.
Jiuwei Busway was responsible for the measurement, drawing, production, and supply of the busway for the FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin plant project, primarily using busway in multiple ratings including 1600A and 2000A, with plug-in busway used throughout. Jiuwei Intelligent Technology also sent staff on site to guide the installation. The project was completed successfully.
